    This is fascinating, I wonder if there is increased fish activity below the garbage patch from the shade provided and food sources on the plastic.

  2. That what we get when private companies sell garbage to offshore countries and all they do is haul it 1/2 across the ocean and dump it.

    Yes. Trentila has capitalized on this new ecosystem by growing Tiger Fruit straight on the patch. Never spoils!

    It’s worth noting that the whole “island” isn’t one solid mass but a region where the plastic and micro plastics are most dense. You will not find a picture of the island like it’s shown on this map.
