You have to be some sort of warped hard man firstly to shoot a deer in an enclosure, but then also behead the poor thing as a „trophy“. I didn’t know we gave trophies for people shooting fish in barrels.
I’m not anti-shooting. We need marksmen to take out deer in a painless, humane way as part of a controlled cull because it was human beings that got rid of the wolf, and from all I’ve seen about it – they take the venison and distribute it to charities or between them and their friends.
This isn’t that. This is chicken shit coward behaviour. I hope for the deer’s sake it didn’t feel any pain and that his literal stablemates aren’t distressed. I’ve also no doubt these people have no idea what they’re doing with regards to things like taxidermy so they should be easy to find soon.

Psychopathic behaviour but honestly it’s not surprising. I know of a group of scumbags from Ballyfermot “hunt” with young kids, and boast about it on Facebook with pictures etc.
The barrister who put a bullet in one of them up in tallaght a few years back had the right idea.
A hunter would behead it and take the carcass. You have to take it off and gralloch it (take out the guts) to sell it to a game meat dealer. This was the complete opposite, someone taking the head as a trophy.
Red deer are protected too. These were in a fenced off area, it’s like someone going in and decapitating a cow. What a loser.
