27. November 1701. Anders Celsius, der schwedische Astronom, Physiker und Mathematiker, wurde in Uppsala geboren. Er war Professor für Astronomie an der Universität Uppsala und schlug 1742 die Celsius-Temperaturskala vor, die später zu seinen Ehren Celsius genannt wurde.
