Of course. America counts on us to keep Russia busy during WW 3. Even with the biggest army, America cannot fight 2 wars at once. If Russia and China were to ally against the US, it’d be a checkmate for the US.

America thinks if Europe goes down, they win, without asking themselves who is next.
America depends on its allies. It’s isolated geographically, which is great for its defense, but it does not have the means to intervene far from its borders against a great power without local allies. (I am talking about fighting a big war, not beating a small country to the pulp).

For now maybe but it’s pretty clear that Trump want to switch and ally with Russia even if that looks stupid, it’s up to us to act accordingly and develop new alliances or be more independant but most European countries don’t realize it yet or will wait for the next US president as usual.
