Why do all the stories about this feature choose to highlight all the admittedly bizarre “NUMBER 1 PATRIOT TRUMP FAN” accounts being run from Africa or whatever and never the fact that the official DHS account was being ran from Tel Aviv??

It’s not just X, either. Those accounts are here, Facebook, every social media platform. Weird how right wing comments always end up on top for TV station FB pages. Who’s paying for all that?

I don’t think that raises any questions.
It confirms the most obvious answers.

It doesn’t raise questions so much as it answers them, I thought. Misleading headline imho.

Just a reminder but Elon personally raised the API cost to absurd levels the moment he took over Twitter and before the 2024 election.
This made it impossible for researchers to track misinformation and bot networks across the platform – he claimed it was to „recoup costs“ but that never made sense to me.
Not to mention that he told Ken Paxton he was „responsible“ for trump winning 2024 and predicted before the election he would win all the swing states.
Imho I feel like instead of trying to make people send their IDs to use social media maybe instead if a social media company gets so large that it can influence elections it’s recommendation system should be open sourced and regulated.

Reddit should institute the same feature

No it doesn’t. It *answers* questions about them.

NATO membership private internet? (not that I know how that would work, if technologically impossible, my b.)
