I don’t think a lot of that base who switched over to conservatives over time will be willing to go back. Not with the current stay of the NDP at least.
Yes, they should. They should have done this years ago. Hell, they should have never given up their position as the party of the working class. They had a massive built in voter base and they needlessly pissed it away whilst gaining nothing. Don’t do that. That’s how you guarantee perpetual electoral defeats and a weakened position in parliament. Go back to the old Tommy Douglas NDP.
It’s bizarre (but fair) that this even needs saying. That’s literally what they exist to be. They really have had their lunch eaten at this point.
