The differences in the beliefs of the various Christian groups in the region are greater than those between Sunnis and Shias, so lumping them all as one is absurd

Not entirely sure how accurate this map is tbh.

Iran definitely has a sizable Sunni minority but ain’t no way it’s that big, the map is wrong.

Is Cyprus really in the Middle East?

Potentially, 5% of the population of Saudi Arabia are Christians – although there are no churches.
Most the people interested in the religious groups in the middle east do not know the alevis. Because they are minority and although most of them are in Turkey, they are not officially recognized and are despised by other Muslims in the region. Even they have been exposed to discrimination and violence for years. But they are progressive and secular community and they don’t deserve this. So really thank you for adding them to the map.

The Syrian and Iraqi civil wars + Foreign intervention destroyed christianity.
It breaks my heart such historic populations on the verge of disappearing. May god keep their resilience strong.

What’s the map of Egypt based on exactly? The chrisitan minority is well blended within the sunni muslim majority it would be impossible to paint a map like this.
