I can only see the non-paywalled part, but isn’t there an entire field dedicated to non-equilibrium thermodynamics? Like I don’t think a fourth law alone would help, given I sat through an entire semester on the matter and barely scratched the surface.
Just don’t use rules for equilibrium processes in systems that are out of equilibrium.
