      People give out about the price of non essential items and keep buying them. The world will keep spinning if we all stop paying 4.40 for shite chocolate.

      It’s expensive, but it’s also not a normal sized pack. It’s three times as big as a normal pack, which is 42g.

      You can get them on offer sometimes for around 2e then I stock up for them packs are scandalous esp in Circle K I will never buy snacks or sweets in there!!!!

      Was about to buy a normal Twirl the other day in centra when I saw it was 2.45. All normal sized bars were 2.45! Mental!

      Not minstrels but more essentials, people can’t just flat out not buy things and it leads to the market adjusting

      Its about €1 more than „normal“ which is what you’d expect from a Centra or a Spar.

      Coca shortage has chocolate prices through the roof in general, a standard 48g Galaxy bar is €2 odd these days and you’d need 3 of them to make up the size of that 125g pouch.

      I used to buy a bar and a coffee 2 or 3 times a week, had to stop because it was costing me nearly €20! I instead buy a multipack in Tesco doing the shop and bring a bar with me now and drink it with the free instant coffee in work instead.

      I went to look for a treat in the shop and saw €5 for a small share bag of M&Ms. Fuck right off.

      Are they definitely 125g? Tesco are selling 118g for 50c cheaper (before applying the clubcard discount).

      I was in Tescos the other day and let out a loud gasp when I saw bags of Malteesers & M&Ms for five euro. I couldn’t believe it. They can stick them.

      To be fair, that’s not a ’normal‘ size bag of them, that’s a share bag. Even at though it’s pretty outrageous, used to be less than €3 and we thought that was expensive. Everything has gone to fuck.

      You want value? Spend €15-€20 on a box of decent chocolates. It’ll take you a few sittings to get through it. It’ll scratch your sweet itch every time. The quality of chocolate is vastly superior to this shite aimed at kids.

      And it’s not ’normal size‘ either. Shrinkflation has hit this area BIG TIME in the past few years.

      These ’share bags‘ are like 50% smaller than they used to be. Yet the price has doubled.

      You say „normal size“ but those bags hasn’t been normal size for a long time, the weight has dropped and price has raised. Same with other bags, like M&Ms.

      Combat this by literally NEVER buying anything more than the milk and bread, which tends to be on the more reasonable end.
      And in a petrol station, stop buying shit that isn’t fuel for your car! Almost everything else is overpriced.

      They were all €2.50 each (Clubcard price) in Tesco Liffey Valley earlier.

      Chocolate was only ever cheap because it’s farmed with slave labour. 

      Now the beans are under threat from disease,  I’m not sure it has much time left. 

      There are so many reasons not to buy Nestlé.

      I dunno. Maybe it’s time to give it up.

      People say shrinkflation but it’s also chocolate, which is becoming harder to farm and more difficult to source. I think it will get worse before it gets better
