Oh, I was at first pleasantly surprised when I misread this as „eject“ Republicans.

Oh, if only we lived in *that* universe.

    2. In Germany it was Adidas and Puma.

Two companies, same family, supporting the Nazis.

    3. It’s always the people who do the least amount of work that donate billions to republicans.

Boycott Nike! (Brooks FTW if you’re looking for running shoes)

In America we let billionaires buy elections and we call it free speech. True story!

I’m already boycotting them for child labor. Can I double boycott them?

Well, I decided to look into other brands owned by Nike.

There’s not as may as I’d thought, but here:

      Converse
      Jordan
      Nike Golf (obviously)
      Hurley

    7. Soon they’ll be able to get all their slave labour domestically. That would keep overhead down would it not? The super rich can be super evil with their resources, and this seems to be no different to me

Good to know, I’ll vote with my dollars too, and not with Nike.

This will not sit well with his fan base in Oregon, especially in Eugene

Co-founder of company with history of sweatshops, child labor and Uyghur forced labor supports Republicans?

Going to put on a different pair of shoes and go search for my surprised face

Think about it. This guy has watched all that’s happened this year, including in his own state, and says, “Christmas bonuses for my workers? Nope. I’ll pay three million dollars for more of this!”

Can we agree that billionaires are a genuine threat to the health of an country?

      „record setting“
It just says a personal record for him.
As in, if you donated $5 and never donated before, that would be „record setting“.

Zohran Mamdani said it best, you spent more money than I would’ve taxed you on this campaign than I would need to pay for free buses.

For those not in Oregon, in the 2022 gubernatorial race Knight blew $1.5 million on Republican candidate Christine Drazen and another $3.75 million on spoiler “independent” candidate Betsey Johnson. They both lost. Knight spent $2.5 million on Republican Knute Buehler’s run for governor in 2018, and $400,000 on Republican Chris Dudley’s run in 2010. They also both lost. The only time Knight backed a winner was contributing $250,000 to Democrat John Kitzhaber‘s run in 2014, but Kitzhaber resigned in disgrace in Feb, 2015.

Knight’s political contributions are the kiss of death.

I never forget how this guy got confronted by Michael Moore with proof that children were making Nikes and his aloof, almost stoner response was along the lines of “Well uh, these kids uh are uh getting better opportunity making uh my shoes”

    16. hinterstoisser on

This Phil Knight asked people to donate for his cancer research center because the republicans were taking away funding.

      F** you PHil

If billionaires paid in taxes what they pay in campaign contributions and bribes, we would have a country

    18. CobraPony67 on

Remember when they called the Democrats ‚left wing elites‘? Seems that the Republicans have a LOT of billionaire donors. They don’t need tax breaks. They became billionaires under many administrations. Yet, it is never enough… Keep peddling the ‚trickle down‘ to the populous while replacing them with outsourcing, automation (robots), and AI.

He’s fucking 87 years old. Dude, you won. You have everything, just enjoy your remaining years. There is nothing more for you to do so quit making it shittier for those of us who will be around in a couple of years.

these assholes could literally create more apathetic and apolitical families by solving hunger, but instead they double down on oppressing.

      fuck the rich.
