Having dealt with Starlink for business I can say with confidence that Amazon is going to strip enterprise customers from Starlink like CRAZY even if their pricing is significantly higher. Starlink doesn’t just lack enterprise features, they’re actively hostile to business and government customers. Simply being a competent enterprise IT solution is going to bring them so much money.

I’m glad there’s some competition now, because legacy satellite is just not competition by any reasonable measure. It comes with an order of magnitude higher price for an order of magnitude worse performance. Hopefully Starlink will get their shit together when they aren’t the only game in town and we can have real competition.

Apart from all of the junk floating around our planet, the other thing that sucks about Starlink is support. I’m in the position to recommend it for 3000 locations, but they have zero enterprise support and the hardware kinda sucks. I’d be surprised if this winds up any better.

    3. While many may see Musk and Bezos similarly because of their wealth, I think Bezos has demonstrated he realizes his came via his customers. Musk acts as if you should feel privileged that you GET to be a customer.

All in the name of capitalistic progress towards space garbage and losing access to space.

So Jeffey boy can make a few more bucks.

    5. How about you launch the most stable satellite system that doesn’t just turn into dangerous space junk?

Politics aside, this is good for us regardless. Competition is always better for the customer. We only win when companies fight it out for market share by increasing quality and lowering prices.

I love how the headline couldn’t even mention the name of the competitor and simple referred to it as „starlinks competitor“.

    10. Jeff is very much less evil than Muskrat. I hope this goes well for him as long as Musk loses.
