      People keep saying Ukraine needs to negotiate. How do you negotiate with someone who’s sole focus is to take everything from you. Russia never wanted peace.

      Very surprising. There is not gonna be a deal. Russia rather push ther economy deep down into depression than submit to anything less than Ukraine capitulation.

      I would say any deal that doesn’t work for Russia is a good deal for Ukraine and the rest of the world

      It starts to look like russia wants to loose this war proper. There’s a theory (don’t recall the book/author), that russia’s only chance to develop and catch up to civilized world is to suffer a military defeat and go through post-war recovery analogous to Germany and Japan.

      About time to send the Taurus. Europe needs to increase pressure now that Russia got the Witkoff and Trump to suck Putin off.

      This just seems to be an eternal war, waiting it out till Russia can’t sell more gasoline. But I swear other countries don’t help like India or china. I know everyone has their own interest but it is quite clear and dry who was the invader and aggressor and we should be able to unite to stop one country attacking the other.

      The only thing Russia agrees to is a peace plan, and that must be accepted. It’s foolish to think Putin will accept a completely pro-Ukrainian European plan.

      Not a big surprise. Several of the important points the Kremlin put in the proposal published by the US were dropped.

      For example:

      – No amnesty for all Russian war crimes
      – Ukraine not giving up the rest of Donbas Oblast without a fight
      – No joint US-Russian reconstruction financed by Europe

      There is no deal that both sides will agree on at the moment. The only way to end this war is by supporting Ukraine until it kicks out Russia from its entire territory.

      I’m shocked. And I don’t think that the rest of the world was harsh enough in their pushback against Drumpf. The original deal was essentially everything the Russians wanted and nothing but restrictions on Ukraine.

      Why exactly is it the United States job to do this? ESPECIALLY after Putin keeps playing trump and the west like a violin.

      Thinking about it, I don’t think we really need Russia anymore.

      No surprise there then. They’d have to settle for less than they set out and Putin just can’t sell that to his people. Accepting this plan would end with him losing first his power and then his life (probably at the hands of an angry mob or possibly by getting the ever popular defenestration)

      It doesn’t work for Ukraine either, but it shows how deeply unserious Russia is at ending a war they started if they’re not willing to compromise on *anything* while still achieving some of their territorial goals.

      They want to swallow all Ukraine and may end up choking on it.
