      From the article:

The White House has responded after a federal judge dismissed the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James without prejudice on Monday.

U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie found that Lindsey Halligan had been appointed as interim U.S. Attorney just two days before Comey’s case with no prior prosecutorial experience. Her disqualification renders her actions, including the signing of the indictments, legally invalid.

White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson said in a statement, “The facts of the indictments against Comey and James have not changed and this will not be the final word on this matter.”

The Federal judge did the Trump admin a favor. Comey and James would’ve dogwalked them for the world to see.

The Trump administration would be a whole lot scarier if anyone there had an ounce of competency.

    4. I actually want them to hire another hack who will take the cases and try again because they’re both flimsy as fuck on the merits. It would be hilarious to see this clown DOJ eat dogshit twice.

    5. DoJ files false charges, gets let off easy when their attorney gets busted… now they want to get really schooled for filing false charges, which has real penalties to it? Alrighty then, go for it.

      >White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that the DOJ will appeal the dismissal of the indictments, stating, „This judge took an unprecedented action to throw these cases out to shield James Comey and Letitia James from accountability based on a technical ruling. And the administration disagrees with that technical ruling … I know the Department of Justice will be appealing this in very short order, so maybe James Comey should pump the brakes on his victory lap.“

Of course they’ll appeal and call this shit show a ‚techinicality“. I wonder who will even tough the appeal case as it seems this scenario is in part due to no DOJ Lawyer wanted to risk their reputations on such shitty cases.

    7. Has he threatened the Judge with imprisonment and death for insurrection?

    8. This is one of many takes I’ve seen/read about this dismissal, and the chain of incompetence just keeps growing.

There is always speculation about bringing the charges again, and I get the feeling Comey and James would welcome the chance to charge the president and his DOJ of using the law to enact revenge.

      Smh.

Even if Halligan was legally appointed, she misled the grand jury and the grand jury never saw or deliberated on the final indictment. This is what happens when you appoint someone with no relevant experience to prosecute a case.

    10. So A) they could not find a single person with prosecutorial experience to take that job, and B) Trump’s big EO about not allowing the DOJ to be used as a political weapon was complete bullshit.

      Not surprised by either thing.

    11. If a lawyer reads this, do either Comey or James have grounds for a countersuit here?

I’d like to point out that the judge is a conservative South Carolina attorney appointed by Donald Trump’s former lover Bill Clinton.

A lot of attorneys working in the Trump administration will eventually be disbarred

La mayo. First the chicken out on the aca tax credits now this due to absolute incompetence. Why did people vote for this fucking loser.

    16. Its always „partisan“ or „activist“ when the judge doesn’t rule in their favor.

    17. Bulky_Slip_1840 on

“Activist judges and partisan politics we will appeal and win, joe Biden’s fault and his weaponization of doj”

      I didn’t read it.

      How close am I?!

This is what happens when you politicize the DOJ. They get laughed out of court.
