I guess I don’t understand what’s wrong with telling someone they should not do something illegal… unless of course you are trying to get away with something that is illegal.

They are investigating him for sedition after Trump said that they deserve the death penalty.

Regardless of if this is a distraction from the Epstein files or not (and we can expect a lot of wild shit over the next three weeks), this is still unbelievable. A sitting president calling for the death penalty of his political opponents.

Do not lose the forest for the trees. Take a step back and remember how our government operated before all of Trump’s bullshit. He is a fascist, is a narcissistic sociopath, and will do whatever he can to avoid consequences. Do not normalize any of this.

      Democrats: „Don’t do illegal shit.“

      MAGA: „THAT’S FUCKING TREASON!!!!“

Time for Congress to go do b their job and remove these wanna be despots.

So, they’re *recalling him for active duty* so he can be *court marshalled* for something he did as a civilian? I don’t even think it’s against either martial or civil law. It was a statement of fact, and something we used to be proud of!

This should make every veteran pissed. They think they found a loophole to punish any veteran who goes against MAGA. This is what you fought for?

    6. Yeah Pete is literally proving the point of why this was said out loud by “investigating” the actual law.

Why are they so worried about service members fulfilling their constitutional duties?

    8. HoosierZombie on

Oh? What specific orders did Mark tell them to disobey? Has trump even given specific orders to the military?

Last I checked, the Pentagon doesn’t have oversight powers over Congress.

Seems like something Congress should investigate in the future given it has actual oversight authority over the Pentagon.

Yeah go for it, what he said is recorded. It’s literally in their oath not to follow such orders. That’s not the case for old hegseth in a few years

Hegseth picking a fight with a US Senator…a little outside his weight class

It will be a great day for our legal system when Pete Hegseth is tried for the multiple murders his orders have resulted in

    13. This is just going to add to the pile of controversy this administration has already created and they’re going to receive additional backlash from the population at large over this. Someday (hopefully soon), this administration will come crashing down (maybe at the same time as Russia) and we can get back to some normalcy where I have no clue what the president is doing every single gaddam day.

I just want everyone in here to understand how common it is that troops are reminded of this fact. It is drilled into our troops repeatedly and often that they have a duty to disobey unlawful orders. Senator Kelley didn’t say anything they haven’t heard a million times and he’s getting identified for political persecution.

    15. The pentagon gives troops trainings on how to defy illegal orders. The pentagon does the exact same thing they are accusing Mark Kelly of.

    16. >I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

      # The Oath of Enlistment is to the Constitution, not the President.

The Constitution is the law of the land, not Trump.

    17. Silent-Resort-3076 on

      >In its statement, the Pentagon suggested that Kelly’s statements in the video interfered with the “loyalty, morale, or good order and discipline of the armed forces” by citing the federal law that prohibits such actions.

      >Kelly told troops “you can refuse illegal orders,” and other lawmakers said they needed troops to “stand up for our laws … our Constitution.”

Suggesting you „can“ is NOT urging…..another incompetent decision by this administration!

      It’s getting worse.

The only predictable pattern with this fascist piece of shit- he will keep getting worse

    19. 15 years of service in the USN, 39 combat missions, 4 STS missions, and his wife left permanently disabled after tea party (maga pre cursor) rhetoric inspired a paranoid schizophrenic to shoot her point blank in the head. This deplorable attack by the regime on an American hero, might make him a winning candidate for president in 2028.

Pentagon wants soldiers to follow illegal orders… you can’t be a Nazi army and question Nazi orders.
