Why does everyone give into the bully?
The Trump administration’s pressure on European regulators is having an impact, with fewer restrictions on Big Tech and canceled measures.
Almost everything is on hiatus. The EU AI Act, Digital Services Act, and Digital Markets Act are all at risk. The European Commission is preparing to end the year with virtually no movement on its most important tech policy initiatives. Many measures may even be reversed.
In particular, a series of changes threatens to weaken the entire framework of the EU AI Act by eroding its substance. There could also be major reconsiderations of the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act. Not to mention the Digital Networks Act and the EU Space Act, before they even see the light of day, are already the subject of legal disputes.
Since the tariff agreement between the United States and Europe was signed last August, big tech companies, backed by the Trump administration, have increased pressure to soften restrictions on all fronts.
The Russians were right; the Europeans are just vassals of the USA. I guess in this case it really wasn’t propaganda 🙁

Europe chose economic suicide, this is always what that meant if tech remained important to peoples lives
Very worrying and very dumb.
Not that I’m a big fan of US policy, but EU policy is anti-freedom for the most part. Suspending whatever initiatives they have in the pipeline is usually a good thing.
NO to regulations for ethics, transparency and protecting people as consumers;
YES to regulations for big tech to block access and conduct mass information gathering for surveillance purposes;

Good and smart move in the long run.
It’s been so saddening to see the eu being so weak. I was convinced the eu understands their soft power and would kindly tell Trump to fuck off.
But instead they seem wanna stick their tongues deep up his arse out of fear. It’s absolutely pathetic.
