Keep saying it – Russia is going to use it as an excuse to say „no deal then“. Will be by the end of the week.
Guarantee it.
Back to square one, total waste of everyone’s time and effort. It was a ploy by Russia all along.

It should be well known by any student of geopolitics & Russian history that the Russians are notorious for making ridiculous proposals that they know will be rejected, so they can both point to their adversary and say „they don’t really want peace“ as well as introduce a subsequent proposal that, while still ridiculous, is several steps back from their previous offer, so they’ll seem more reasonable and the offer seem more palatable.

The significant change is that Ukraine has removed all words from the document except where it states “Russia removes forces from Ukraine”. That should be the deal. They don’t need a Hague trial for all your war crimes (which they deserve). They don’t need restitution for destroying their civilian infrastructure (which they deserve). All they really want is Russian soldiers out of Ukraine territory.

The only path for peace is without Trump, Europe needs to replace USA supporting Ukraine. Remove Putin’s leverage through Trump and maybe peace will get closer.

The three main factors I’d imagine would be no limitations on their military size, stop the war or a ceasefire along the contact line, and security guarantees from the US and Europe that are similar to NATO guarantees that Russia has to believe are a genuine guarantee to Ukraine.

Was the first change a tear that started at the top and continued to the bottom?

How about this for a peace plan… Putin pulls ALL military out of Ukraine. Then he spends the rest of his life in a casket for crimes against humanity, and Ukraine gets NATO membership.
