I think it would be kinda weird to have the other main Fox X-Men characters in Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars without Wolverine. Fully expect him in those movies.

When you’re an established and popular character, you bow out on top and claim you’re never coming back because it’s a total win win. Either the character is never revived and you ended on top or now they have to drive a truckload of cash to your front door because you’ve been adamant about never doing the character again. RDJ and Evans both essentially did the same thing. Even in a scenario where they replaced you with another actor and that film was a hit, you still look ok because you left on your own while on top.
