Probably why Putin had Trump put a short deadline on making Ukraine surrender territory.
Putin knows he’s running out of time, so he has to make Trump give him the win now.
In a rational world, we’d impeach Trump for being a traitor. We aren’t in that world.

So it begins. The start of every major fall of a nation is not being able to pay their soldiers. Then not feeding them.

Ye ye, yet another article of “Russia about to collapse any minute now, this time for realz guys!”
These feel good articles aren’t particularly helpful for Ukrainians

>The finance minister from Yakutia said that troops from the republic in Russia’s far-eastern republic could not receive bonuses and one-time payments due to the shortfall.
Why is Newsweek still allowed? It’s not even about the actual salary but the sign up bonus in one region.

There are some very good YouTube channels which have been explaining Ukrainian strategy.
It’s interesting to see it coming into effect.
The Russian economy is fluffed up more than a kitten in a tumble dryer.

Isn’t Russia giving massive payouts if a soldier dies – most are from places far from Moscow so it is hugely affecting their local economies? No way that is maintainable and if Putin has promised these payments, soldiers die and their families are not paid out there will be big problems.

Article headline is misleading. Russia has not run out of money, but a single region has budget problems.

It looks like US is making sure Russia becomes weak , but strong enough to pose a credible threat .
Without Russia as a boogeyman, NATO will become irrelevant, they won’t be able to justify the 2% spending.
Like it or not Russia as a threat to Europe helps US defence Industry .
Russia not becoming a threat to Europe is a threat to US defence industries .

They’ve been running „Russia’s economy is on the brink of collapse“ articles since the war started. They were mostly fluff, hopium, and hyperbole.
Is it actually finally happening for real?

Is that why Trump is pushing this peace deal so hard. Cant have Russia run out of money. If they do, how are they gonna afford to keep bribing the Trump family and financing the right wing propaganda apparatus?

While I would love to see Russia collapse financially (or otherwise) due to the war and sanctions and such, but I would not see too much into this particular news. End of year budgeting shortages due to unforeseen events and expenses at the time the budget was made are quite common. They probably will just get the money from the central government and then life will go on without the anticipated collapse.

Article says Yakutia had to pause payments because they didnt anticipate the numbers joining. And that the government had stepped in so all payments would be made.

Piece of shit Newsday lying and we love it because it makes us feel good. A Russian Oblast (Yakutia) has stopped paying enlistment bonuses. This is for sure a good thing, but nowhere close to what Newsday is implying with their absolute trash excuse for journalism. Reading Newsday is very similar to reading RT – just lies on top of lies.

That was a statement from one region, which is sparsely populated, less than a million lives in Yakutia. Moreover, the same minister said that they found the funds to pay soldiers.
Putin set his priorities straight. War is his the most important matter, so money will be pulled from any other source, but the „special military operation“ must continue
