I’m not a coder, a sociologist or a child psychologist so I can’t speak to the implementation part, but I sure as shit don’t believe a word these companies say

I would never have guessed that popular support for something this stupid was so high. I think they just went “yeah, kids shouldn’t be on social media, sure” without actually thinking about the implementation of that legally at all. Now they get the hangover of geoblocks like the UK did.
As an Australian I’m pretty confident this won’t work and be a pain in the arse but every single government on the planet should be doing it.
The TechBros have shown they can not be trusted and social media as it stands is a fucking cancer and should be burnt to the ground.
Parent your kids and stop violating our privacy.
I’m rooting for this to be a success more than almost any political policy…and I’m not even Australian.
But I can’t see how the media will let it be a success.
