    1. This does not bode well for companies trying to implement LLMs. A refusal to insure something is often a good reality check about the true magnitude of risk.

If you can’t insure your home anymore due to hurricane risk… you live somewhere where the risk of getting your home damaged by a hurricane is very high.

If people won’t provide insurance for companies providing LLMs… insurance thinks that there is a very high chance these companies are going to be paying out a lot for the consequences of their use.

What exactly are they insuring here ? What exactly would they be excluding? Seems like concepts of use? Does toothpaste need to be insured in case someone decides they want to swallow 50 tubes of it?

    3. Easy to see why. The governments refuse to put strict laws on it, so you can sue anything and nothing. It’s all up to argumentation and who is your judge.

This is the reason companies are so desperate to preempt state regulations.

Remember – AI is NOT too big to it’s too big to bail out. Let the billionaires take the hit this time.
