Was ist das für ein Ding?

It´s a very minimalist Ansitz. You sit on the stump and can rest your rifle on the upper part and be partly camouflaged by the branches. The terrain also going downwards into the direction where your rifle will point. And most probably up on the other side of the „valley“, so you have a nice Kugelfang (Bullet trap) and your bullets will hit into the ground when you miss (never shoot when you are not sure to hit vital spot, but still for safety.) or penetrate through the target.

Edit: [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansitzjagd](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansitzjagd) Mostly an Ansitz is a raised structure so the hunter will have a good angle and will hit the ground if the bullet or fragments will get trough the target, or if the hunter misses. When the terrain is good and allows it, like it looks on the pictures, it is totally fine to just have something like this.
Can also be that it is a improvised one for a Hunt of a lager group. For this everybody gets a Ansitz / position which the hunter has to hold to be safe. They get a defined field of fire and a group with dogs will scare up mostly boars and „guide“ them in the field of fire without entering it.
