Interesting trivia about London, we have no idea where the name came from (other than obviously Londinium). There are dozens of modern theories, but they essentially all boil down to ‘this old word sounds a bit like London, so maybe thats it’.

Some believe it might have come from the original pre-Roman settlement that we know nothing about, but we have absolutely no fucking idea.

    3. Fun factors. London is made from city of London in border very similar to the
Roman Londinium and the greater London. legally those are very separate things

That bit that looks like a tributary beyond and to the left of the bridge, is that the marshland of present day Waterloo/Southwark?

Can’t have anything nice! „We“ gave you a *pearl* ! But hey Barry, you know what it’s said about pearls and (actual) pigs…smh, and my head too!

    6. Everytime I see (Roman) London, it comes to my mind that Thessaloniki used to be the „London“ of the byzantine empire and I don’t know how to deal with how irrelevant Thessaloniki has become 😔

Wondered how long it’d be until I came across a comment containing weird brainrot stuff about getting stabbed.

      15 seconds, well done. 🙄
