> The EURO-PULS is being developed in cooperation between the German KNDS and Israeli ELBIT targeting the European market by integration of additional missile types. As part of the project, the US made GMLRS and other HIMARS missiles would have been integrated with the EURO-PULS launchers, however, the management of Lockheed Martin, the US missile manufacturer, refused to do so.

Should we pick HIMARS or The German Rocket Launcher System?
*What’s the name of The German’s Rocket Launcher System?* <pauses before typing>
I just told you, it’s RocketLauncherSysteme.
*Of course*

It’s interesting to see Norway prioritize operational flexibility and logistics over sticking with European-made systems. HIMARS and Chunmoo provide precision, rapid deployment, and extended range, which may have outweighed political considerations. This decision highlights how countries are increasingly selecting defense equipment based on effectiveness and adaptability rather than simply supporting domestic or regional suppliers.

They didn’t want the Boden-Luft-Mehrzweckraketenabschussvorrichtungssystem?

Understandable. There is only one factory producing the german version of the HIMARS. Same for the german patriot system. We are talking about years before we have enough AA and rocket launchers only for germany at the current production rate.

This is not final.
No politicians have looked at this. It’s just a recommendation.
It may very well end out with the German missiles, but German lack of production capacity is a problem for all military procurement of German weapons.

Eh, can’t really fault them since there’s definitely something to be said about the HIMARS being battle tested.

Not surprised, if there is a way Poland can give Germany the finger, they will. Its mostly not malicious but rather they just dont like Germany/Germans at all and it has very little to do with WW2.
At least thats what my polish co-workers told me a few years ago.

Maybe the EU should not have slapped tarrifs on Norway.
