My understanding is the industry that grew the town is gone, resulting in high unemployment and little productivity.
What should you do with a declining town? How can it be rejuvenated?
It’s not the only one. Drogheda town centre is a disgrace. Dereliction everywhere, shops empty or shutting down and the only ones opening are vape shops side by side.
The icecream cone must lick itself off.
