Benedict Cumberbatch sagt, er fühle sich „ziemlich deprimiert“ über KI in der Filmindustrie und denkt, wir würden das „Ding, das uns menschlich macht“ „zunichtemachen“.

How many comic book movies has this guy been in? The artistry
I read vanilla frying and now I want some fried ice cream
Hes not wrong but also anyone who uses ai to replace thinking is big dumb
Not to defend AI, but people have been remaking shakespears plays into movies for a long long time.
It’s happening in all industries bud.
Not entirely sure what the end game is here since it’s definitely not making people happier
In general, those being replaced by technology throughout history have said something like this. It doesn’t make him wrong, but it must be recognised that he has a vested interest.
Who needs an ox? My wife pulls the plough very well. Who need a computer? my typewriter is very good. Etc
Don’t worry mr cabbagepatch, nobody’s gonna watch that shit just like pure CG scifi movies
He literally said this yesterday, Friday November 21, 2025 on reddit.
He did an AMA on r/movies.
I’d like to play devil’s advocate to a degree and ask him if doing almost everything in front of a green screen with down to 1 second shots and filling the rest in with computer generated CGI backgrounds is doing the same with generated characters left and right.
I don’t know how far they’ll push AI generation in movies but I will assume eventually a lot.
AI is another tool that can be used to great effect but it’ll replace many jobs in the end and possibly wreck many movies.
Gets paid millions of dollars to play make-believe.
I’m not saying we should replace them with AI, but let’s have some perspective…
Vanilla is really good though, I dont think the analogy works
We didn’t even have film like 150 years ago.
Film is a medium that became possible with the technology at the time. Did stage actors revolt against „big film“ trying to steal their human expression you can only experience in person.
New technology, new mediums. That doesn’t destroy human expression, but it does increase the ways a human can choose to express themselves. AI in film is no different than CGI in film really, it’s just less blood and tears.
In a few years I’ll be able to generate entire movies with any actor I want. Exciting times
Im sure when cars were invented, people were also reluctant to give up their horses.
And when computer animation was invented, hand-drawn animators weren’t happy too.
Humans are resistant to change. Ai is meant to make life easier by doing things cheaper and faster.
