A couple facts about the Kachins:

1. Kachin State is one of the few places in Burma that snows.

2. The KIA formed all the way in 1961; many of their founding leaders were WW2 veterans formerly trained by the OSS.

3. The KIA has an arms industry that supplies many rebel groups (including the Arakan Army) despite being in active battle. Most of their weapons are clones of Chinese designs, but they are one of the few entities that clone the American M320 grenade launcher (briefly seen at 7:23 and 12:27).
