Income tax cut. Federal public sector job cuts. Carbon tax canceled. Increased military spending. Slashed immigration. Pipeline. CPC lost the election but CPC voters got what they wanted anyway.
Can’t even express how much I hate this. I really haven’t liked Carney at all as PM, but his environmental file (lackthereof really), is by far the worst offender. Just feels depressing that we’ve all collectively decided the planet is doomed so we might as well further doom it
I can’t get over how much Carney is getting done in such a short period of time: the new investment pledge from the UAE, the trade and security agreements, the critical infrastructure projects, etc. It seems every time I check the news he’s in a new country or province hammering out a deal or agreement.
You can like the progress he’s making or hate it (I personally love it), but no one can deny that we finally have a PM that knows how to work hard and get stuff done.
I can’t stop laughing at the news articles that came out detailing PMO and ministerial staff complaining about having to show up on time, know their stuff, and work hard.
Canada has placated and stagnated for the last 10-15 years, so it’s exciting to finally see us growing, developing, and moving forward.
Politics aside, how dangerous is the water off the nw coast of BC? Could oil tankers go through it or not? Is the ban justified, or is it overly cautious? As someone who lives in BC and voted for Carney, I’m genuinely curious.

no cpc/ab stans talked about danielle’s apparent happiness with mark after the first few meetings, so i doubt this’ll get much traction in a good way for them
the reaction of the right is so much different to the left when legislation/results that should be up their alley gets passed by someone that isn’t „them“. i don’t understand how it came to be this way
I don’t think it’s going to happen in this form. He doesn’t have the political power to push this on BC regardless of whether he can technically do it. The BC govt can functionally kill the project whenever it wants by refusing to do any of the municipal level work that they control.
They should focus on expanding trans mountain if they want results fast. this doesn’t make any sense and will definitely get tied up in legal fights for a decade. I wouldn’t be surprised if Carney’s team are well aware of this and have no intention of actually building it.
