I don’t agree with her political views, I think her obnoxious statements and behavior during Biden’s SOTU address are embarassments, but I can’t disagree with her assment of our current administation, congress and our political process.
I do think when elected five years ago she truly had no idea how Congress actually works, thought it would be easy to game by being a lightning rod, then slowly learned the real truth of the political process-and realized she wasn’t an important part of it despite her displays of loyalty.
FWIW I don’t think she’s had a „Road to Damascus“ moment. I think she’s made a lot of money over the last five years, has seen her political aspirations wither and is giving a parting shot as most will do when leaving a job where they feel mistreated and undervalued.
Just as an aside, anyone heard from Boebert? She’s been awful quiet lately.

She wrote a long and passionate good-bye letter, even pointing the finger at rising costs, lack of healthcare, and the misconduct of the billionaire and corporate classes. Too bad none of her base has the reading comprehension to understand it (it’s written above the 6th grade reading level).
The parties are not the same. MTG has been detested by the Left for years and has never feared for her life. She has only been hated by the Right for a few days and had to hire private security because of death threats.

Funny, she spent all that time bad mouthing Democrats and didn’t receive a single threat, as soon as she turns on Republicans, she immediately resigned. Wonder who the violent ones are?

Anyway, it’s a funny letter. It rightly calls out that congress does nothing to help common people and the affordability crisis, and only cares about getting re-elected and corporate interests.
Then it trumpets her bills that were never even brought to the floor, which are all culture war bullshit and a capital gains break that would help the wealthy and not the everyday person.
Anyway, she sucked, and the democrats should TOTALLY run someone in her district HARD. They have no chance of winning, because it’s a solid blood-red district, but it’s going to have eyes on it and get national attention.

MTG is a bigoted asshole, no worthy debate to be had there. That said, she is far more aware than her record would indicate. Her choice to not allow herself to be a figurative „battered wife“ to the Mango Mussolini is the evidence.
Ideology is where the battles in congress should rage, not reality itself. While I think MTG’s reality is very informed by a bigoted ideology, her awareness of working class struggles is heartening.
Now if she and more of her stripe could just see past their weird neo liberal indoctrination and anti-ness toward anything socialist and therefore pro-working class we’d have something to work with.

MTG is like that rich kid we all knew growing up that was loud, dumb and annoying. Then one day they weren’t getting excited anymore from bullying the weak kid then decide to hitch a ride with edgy cool kids group and is only apologizing now because she got caught shoplifting with that group at the mall.

The whole thing seemed so odd and sudden, but now it makes complete sense. She waited for the right moment to make the split and this was it. The Epstein files, the shutdown, the lack of progress on economic objectives. She saw her chance and made her move.
She wants to establish her own brand. But to do that, she has to first show that she wasn’t just Trump’s lackey. She has to reject him.
