    3. Mr_Magoo1969 on

Someday the Democratic party will realize that being „Republican lite“ doesn’t actually get a ton of votes.

    4. There needs to be serious primary challengers in 2026 to these people especially in Massachusetts.

    5. Did the resolution include their definition of „socialism“? In American dunderhead discourse it can mean anything from „when the government spends money“ to „complete totalitarian communism.“ This makes debate somewhat difficult.

    6. >**President Donald Trump wrote Wednesday on Truth Social:** “Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran ‚Kwame‘ Mamdani, has asked for a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st. Further details to follow!”

Can we retire this tired tactic of weaponizing „ethnic“ sounding middle names please?? (yes I know they won’t, as long as ethnic names continue to scare conservative White people)

    7. Commercial-Buddy2469 on

Forget these loaded words, what about what the people want? Affordable healthcare, homes, food, education! !!! Almost everyone wants these things! Forget the labels used in propoganda to promote fear. 👺

    8. paradoxicalcrow on

So dems took time from dealing with repub calls for their summary execution to vote for a repub resolution on socialism. Got it. Tracks.

    9. NorthernSoul1998 on

Meanwhile Zohran is on the same spectrum on the political compass as Lyndon B Johnson, except he doesn’t support wars

That latter part is the „socialism“ aspect they are scared of

    10. taco_fan_X3 on

      This is some BS.

As Jon Stewart has repeatedly said, the U.S. government socializes corporate losses, but privatizes corporate profit.

So they can all get bent.

    11. If you start spending money on improving constituent’s lives how will we be able to afford the next sports stadium? Those poor teams going have nowhere decent to play.

    12. TopHighway7425 on

Amazon, Walmart, Intel, exxon, shell, Tesla, openai, are the biggest benefactors of the socialized welfare state so I’m curious how they will respond

    13. This is the stupid fucking politics of the previous generation. The fact that you „held a vote to condemn socialism“ is a meaningless waste of everyone’s time. No one cares about this bullshit. Republicans will still call you a socialist regardless.

Do something about ICE kidnapping people. Show actual fight.

    14. Ok_Victory_231 on

We need to recognize that Dems also have a corporate money addiction. That’s what it’s about.

    15. Amazing so we gonna end subsidies for all those welfare queen companies we are propping up?

    16. tapdancinghellspawn on

My Congressman, Salud Carbajal, was one of the assholes who voted with the Republicans. Fuck him.

    17. Aware-Top-2106 on

      Here’s a crazy idea:

Why doesn’t the country just let the democratically elected mayor of an American city run the city in the way he campaigned.

If things get worse, his constituents can respond as appropriate.

It’s not the rest of the country’s business.

    18. alabasterskim on

Where’s the vote to condemn fascism? Gerrymandering? Hunger? Homelessness? Pedophilia?

No, just socialism, I get it.

    19. I support a vote to condemn the low-IQ of our leaders and populace in not even knowing how to properly discern between socialism, communism, or even capitalism and fascism.

    20. throwawaysalad42069 on

ask them to condemn the billionaires stealing wages from their workers

    21. BlueHorse_22 on

This list of politicians is what’s wrong with the Democrat party. It is truly only the Democratic Socialists who are serious about addressing the largest wealth vacuum in the history of the Western Hemisphere.

    22. Yes, let’s vote to condemn putting people’s wellbeing before profits. It’s not like people voted for us to represent their interests right?

    23. full bill here: [https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-concurrent-resolution/9/text](https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-concurrent-resolution/9/text)

starts, „Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into Communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships;“

Bill name checks Pol Pot. Earlier edits probably included Hitler.

Question: what does this have to do with Democratic Socialism and how does power concentrate in this system?

Are these people concerned that the SPD is leading Germany towards a dictatorship?

    24. HEYYYYYYYY_SATAN on

Socialism? Bro. Fascism is literally wiping dog shit off of their on your carpet.

    25. First they should define it and then list all his policies that actually fit the definition.

    26. LilytheFire on

Thanks for putting all your name on a list to let us know who should be primary challenged! Makes our jobs a lot easier!

    27. Lol Mamdanis agenda isnt socialism but this just highlights how hyper capitalistic US is and both parties serve only the 1%

    28. I just want things to be affordable for my neighbors and myself. I want folks to not have to worry about the cost of medical treatment when considering whether they should get said treatment. I want folks to be able to pursue an education with concern for how they’ll pay for it afterwards. In this day and age, as an American, that makes me a monstrous socialist because I think we could do all this by taxing the rich and making some policy changes.

    29. ScissrMeTimbrs on

And here’s your daily reminder that the Democrats sub won’t allow you to even discuss Zohran Mamdani. Seriously, try to make a topic with his name, and it gets shadowbanned. Even if you’re criticizing him. Check it out:

One of the greatest successes of rightwing propaganda was to convince Americans that the Democratic party is „socialist.“

Now, teens and 20 somethings get upset when they find out that is not the case.

    31. TheSpatulaOfLove on

That’s a pretty long list of fucking morons that don’t understand the difference.

    32. Random_Imgur_User on

Okay maybe I’m the dumb one here but like… Why do we care?

„Full list of losers clinging to sinking ship“ is a more fitting headline. Like, nothing actually happened here, just a bunch of establishment Dems voicing disapproval with a theatrical vote like a bunch of cowards.

    33. Now democrats know exactly who to primary. Time for some new blood ready for progressive leadership
