Especially solar energy. This was once our big thing. LEDs to. But we sold it to China.

Waiting for one or more of the people who live in the make believe world this r/europe sub is full of (like 90% of them) to „explain“ to me that this is actually great for Germany and Europe as a whole

Just ask 9,000 employees of BOSCH (4,500 already eliminated) that will loos their jobs according to 2024 plan and additional 13 000 that will loos their job by the 2030 in Germany alone
ZF plans to lay off 7,600 employees in its Electrified Powertrain Technology division by 2030, as part of a larger restructuring effort that aims to cut up to 14,000 jobs in Germany

This is what happens when you give away Knowhow and IP. Now we need to do the same to China for a level playing field.
Maybe we should turn the tables, demand local partnerships, steal tech and all the doggy stuff China has done for the last few decades.
I would not be surprised if BMW or Mercedes would be bought by a Chinese company in the next five to ten years.

Europeans will eventually figure out that China’s statements about stable global trade and cooperation are just propaganda, and what they really mean is “buy from us with no reciprocation while we fuck over your industry”
Some of the shit Trump’s done and the trade barriers the US has been putting up were modeled after things like the China 2025 program
US was ahead of the curve trying to tackle Chinese trade practices. It’s a shame the ones to attempt it were corrupt and incompetent. Europeans are going to have to follow a similar path or face similar destruction of local industry. The flood of goods by companies that aren’t motivated by profit is already starting
There is a way. Stop treating China as a developing nation. China is the second world economy, with massive economic power, advanced technology and military and still receives benefits and special treatments from provisions to help poor nations.
