      I mean, if the issue is people can’t *prove* they’re from a certain clan, I don’t see what the solution is unless you want people to complain that now anybody can just choose to be officially from whatever clan they want, with no evidence.

      If the criteria for proof is too unreasonably high, there might be some kind of ‚reasonable belief‘ test or something, but if you live by the official clan records, then you die by the official clan records.

      Hopefully people might accept that it’s all fairly meaningless in 2025 anyway, and if they genuinely believe they’re from a certain clan, then they can live their life as if they are, with or without official recognition.

      Lots of family history is passed down orally without ‚proof‘.
