      There’s a completely unreported white collar recession going on right now. My wife and I are stuck in C2H roles right now with at companies with frozen headcounts and minimal external hits. In both of our past job hunts, we’d probably be taking multiple recruiter calls a month. This *year* since I’ve been trying to move on I’ve had 3 recruiters respond.

      What’s also rich is being corrected on „rules of engagement“ by the contracting firms that would apply to something like a 3-6 month fixed term versus C2H engagement. Like I was told I shouldn’t be having 1:1s, but my role is literally scoped as a FTE role, including evolving because conversion was expected. I’d be happy to leave some of the responsibility, but that won’t fly.

      How could anyone have predicted it? I mean, sure, over the past 35 years all the Republican presidents left the economy in worse shape vs when they arrived and all the Democrat presidents left it in better shape than when they arrived. But that all could have been a fluke.
