I found the dvd set at a pawn shop for like 80 dollars because they said it was rare. All I could think was, who would spend 80 dollars on „Joey?“
1000% agree with Kevin Bright. They wrote a series around the opposite of Joey as a character, and it’s why it failed to land, despite a pretty huge open on the pilot.
No idea WTAF they were thinking.
Sometimes this works (_Frasier_), sometimes it doesn’t (_Joey_, _Three’s a Crowd_.)
Should watch the next spinoff.

I remember them advertising heavily that a Friend was going to appear on Joey. Ended up just being a childhood friend of Joey’s, not one of the Friends. Such a bait and switch.
Even worse, the childhood friend was played by the Hebrew Hammer himself, Adam Goldberg, which was completely off putting to Friends fans, as he already played Chandler’s crazy roommate Eddie on Friends

This is the first time that these episodes were officially released in America. NBC pulled Joey with eight episodes unaired. Usually when this happens, the network will burn these episodes off in the summer but NBC never did. There was a DVD release of season two, but it was never released in America just Canada.
I tired watching the show. It was rough bc it wasn’t funny but was a huge Friends fan.

Matts *best* show after Friends was **EPISODES**..it was fantastic as was the entire cast.
It was bad. Purists will defend it. But it sucked.
