I’m married to a teacher and I can’t see them using this in mass.
Maybe the fresh College grads but not the ones that have been there for 5 plus years. Seriously, do they not realize that teachers have tons of material to pull from on top of years worth of their own previously created material? Or about existing websites like Teachers Pay Teachers?
Another gimmick they are using to grasp at straws.

Teachers will begin to teach how to use ChatGPT and imagine all the new exams all AI generated, this is pathetic.
My daughter is in high school and there’s a teacher (that she thankfully doesn’t have) who has told their class that „I will be grading all papers with AI because it is never incorrect“. The teacher actually believes that AI can not be incorrect.
We’re fucked. Not „going to be fucked“. Not „might be fucked“. Fucked as in past-tense. It’s done.
They’re really doing a wildfire tactic. Literally speed run everything while none of it sticks and leaves a smoking waste in its wake.
Doesn’t this already exist as Magic Schools?

It feels like they’re in a race against time. They want to become too big to fail before they fail. Gotta get that bailout money.
Fuck this shit. A huge part of why I didn’t return to the classroom this year was because of the rampant use of AI by the students. I would have had to use all my time to have had a shot of stamping it out. It completely undermines education.
We had an AI speaker and one of our goals is to embed AI in our classroom for a lesson. Spell check works for me!🤣🫠
Can’t they already do this with ChatGPT?
I doubt that a specific teacher focused version of ChatGPT is going to get any reluctant teachers to try it. And I don’t see the teachers who have already adapted AI are going to use this over the original version.
It would make more sense to create a ChatGPT geared specifically for students?. One that is focused on assisting them with research and studying while preventing them from using it to cheat.
I’m a teacher who occasionally uses ai (but mainly Notebook LM, a closed loop ai where you upload sources like a textbook chapter) but mainly for editing existing projects, stepping language up (or down) depending on reading abilities, or an inspiration when coming up with new ideas.
Shitty teachers make it do all of the work for them. In my experience
Fun Fact: My local school board voted unanimously to add verbiage in the student code of conduct that using AI to impersonate teachers and other students likenesses was a violation. We had school board elections and the current sitting president was up for reelection and made AI videos of his opponents saying things they didn’t actually say. Thankfully he lost by a lot.
I thought Chat GPT was Chat GPT for teachers
From a teacher’s perspective, ChatGPT is an incredible assistant. But it’s only that. An assistant for generating materials. It can’t grade for shit. It can’t interact with kids on their level. It can’t do 99% of the things I need to do for my job.
But damn if it can’t crank out grammar questions or comprehension passages like a motherfucker.

I feel like every big tech company, Apple and Google for example, has tried the education ploy as a new business segment, and it never takes off the way they say it will.
Well this is why state laws exist I suppose
I’m a teacher and they are pushing AI on us hard. Rather than address the workload issues directly they are just trying to get us to “work smarter” with AI. It sucks.
