      So the same as the current Jungle Warfare Training Center thats been done for decades in Okinawa?

      So reading between the lines, they are establishing a jungle warfare center out of the reach of Chinas sphere of influence in SE Asia establishing better relations with the host country.

      Americans will die. I don’t think Venezuela will be able to push the US forces out of the country but jungle warfare is horrible. My wife is from Colombia and I see videos online and on tik tok and I’ve been to jungles down there. I saw a video of an experienced Colombian army team out in the bush and the guerilla fighters caught them in a clearing on a mountain. They couldn’t go back and the guy on the radio said they couldn’t send people to them. Over some minutes, the incoming shots from the trees got closer and louder and more intense. They basically just squeezed them. I think the reporter survived and was detained but the Sargent and others didn’t make it. I’ve seen other videos of some pretty spicy firefights out there. Anyone with a macho idea of superior strength is going to get a rude wake up call out there.

      May I ask why people are so certain this will be a snafu? The last time the US operated in this region was Operation Just Cause which went well and was pretty quickly forgotten about

      Is it tensions one only one side is actually raising the heat? I don’t recall Venezuela’s mighty military threatening the US. Did I miss something?
