Takaichi’s sleeping habit even made it on cnn. Hope she’ll be able to continue because Japan wouldn’t have a prime minister to lead what she started if she falls ill.

It’s probably better to slow down a little because economic recovery is going to be a long battle.

Lack of sleep impacts cognitive performance. Sure, working 20 hours looks cool, but thats working 20 hours inefficiently. Instead, she should set a proper schedule and promote efficiency, but the dinosaurs would just call her lazy.

Some people are fine with less sleep and I think those are the people who tend to stick around in politics anyway.

As a Japanese person myself I get around 5 hours of sleep per day. It’s just I don’t overwork and try to maximize free time

John Vann, a former army officer who served as one of the only civilians in history to command US troops in combat during Vietnam as a member of USAID, was well known for only requiring 3 hours of sleep once in a while.

It’s probably a rare genetic condition and Takaichi probably has it too.

People like that are horrible to work for because they don’t realize it’s genetic and that normal people actually do need to sleep 6 to 8 hours every night.

    5. It’s said that being sleep deprived is similar to being drunk in how it weakens your cognitive function and motor skills. It’s not a good thing. If you deprive yourself of sleep multiple days on end, your brain is what’s suffering….yeah, you get more work in, but what’s that worth when the work you’re producing is shit.

There’s a growing body of research that shows your brain flushes out plaque and all sorts of stuff associated with cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s while you sleep. Margaret Thatcher famously slept only 4 hours a night and had dementia later in life. Do with that info what you will.

      Nah, just let her cook.

The problem if when she forces that kind of work culture on other people.

    8. Old Japanese love this. They’d prefer someone working all the time than always asleep

    9. Most ppl know from hands on experience that short sleep dents in the intellectual performance.

But I do not believe she slept like 3h. It feels just PR tactic to pander to right wing audiences.
