Hello this i because you just got your driver licence and you are a high risk driver in the sence that you likely to crash your car.
Brother, my fiesta is 700 a year.
You just got your driver’s license, new drivers always pay higher insurance because are more prone to cause accidents
I pay 206 € for a 2000 Golf 4, I have had my license for 2 years but I am from Denmark and just moved here. It is so god damn expensive here
Especially the small cars are high in insurance as they are „beginner cars“. You look up your insurance premium before buying…
However. Take a look at huk24. They are not listed on comparison portals. They are most likely the cheapest.
Not really,Keep searching.
Well a lot goes into a price the type of car, motor, emissions, type of insurance… including your driving record which you don’t have so of course it will be more for you
Now idk if that’s the best price you can get so maybe you should actually go to some insurance houses where they can explain to you why the price is the way it is and if there’s anything you could do about it
Even for SF 1/2 it seems way too high. Did you check all other car parameters when you performed the search? Maybe it’s getting the numbers for a higher powered car
If you haven’t been insured before, it starts very pricey. It will go down though. My son’s friend paid 350 a month. It went down after a year and then each year more. it sucks that it’s so expensive.
What we did for our son was to buy and register a little more, got insurance for 120/year and that made his SF Klasse Go down until he went to buy the car.
I know you can’t go back on time, but just a tip for anyone reading.
Yeah you gotta always check the classification for your car (typklasse) before you buy it. Sometimes the small ones are pretty expensive, because a lot of young folks drive these and crash often (not the only reason, sry younglings 😉) – sometimes the costs for replacement-parts for exotic vehicles (e.g. chinese ev’s) are quite high, which is why they also have a higher classification than normal.
key is to find a car which is cheap to buy and operate, practical, fun to drive and has a very low typklasse – the „underdog“ so to speak.
Besides the typklasse theres also the regionalklasse, which takes your place of residence into consideration. City is more expensive than countryside for example.
These two factors – besides a lot of other small ones, but these are the main parameters (except your SF-Klasse, which gets higher the longer you drive without crashing (which lowers costs)) – define your car insurance costs in germany.
Additionally – are you male? Well then you’re in for a treat 😅
Insurance prices are measured by the rate the car model is involved in insurance cases, not by its worth per se.
Note: Haftpflicht is what you pay to the car owner you caused damage to. This is the mandatory insurance.
Teilkasko pays partly for damage towards your own car.
Vollkasko even pays more towards damage done to your own car.
You sure af don’t want to pay Vollkasko for an old car. If your car is a beater, you may even wanna skip Teilkasko.
Could it be that you looked for Vollkasko?
Is this Vollkasko?
Holy smokes. I forgot about how prices were a decade ago for me when i got my licens. Dude is paying by far more than I do for my Audi S5 2024.
Are you trying to buy Vollkasko for a Ford Fiesta???
Reading that it has to do with how long one has been driving, I’m getting my license in Germany for the first time but I have licenses from multiple non-EU countries since 2016, would these count or I will start SF0?
Check huk24 the rates should be cheaper there.
Wtf I pay that in a year.
wtf my very first insurance in germany, as an immigrant with no insurance record here for a used bmw was around 1500 per year. haft+voll+cover any other driver.
the only difference to you was that i was a bit older, but still…it’s not like you youngsters are driving off cliffs for shits and giggles
yeah i am around 170
I have vollkasko and I took a high deductible 1000€ and premium was reduced. I am not sure whether you have deductible when you buy just haftpflicht
It’s a common misconception that cheaper, smaller cars are cheaper to insure. The insurance premiums for mandatory liability insurance reflects the model’s statistical likelihood to be involved in accidents, not it’s value. High risk vehicles are mostly city cars or cheap performance models driven by novice or otherwise inexperienced drivers.
Liability insurance can be surprisingly cheap for some rather expensive models.
A Ford 1.4 Fiesta is a typical car for new drivers so the probability of being involved in an accident is pretty high hence the insurances increase the premiums for those cars. The running costs are cheap, the insurance costs are not. The insurance for a Mercedes C300 that costs like 80k is probably cheaper because it isn´t involved in accidents that often.
Check out HUK Coburg. They have good prices
Even for SF0 it seems pretty steep.
Is it Vollkasko? If it’s a used car it’s probably not worth it, and you’d rather want Teilkasko or Haftpflicht depending on how old it is and the car’s condition.
The amount of deductible also affects the premium. The higher the deductible, the cheaper the premium.
Just as a reference, when I was a new driver in Germany I got 5 year old Audi A1 (small car) for 10k Euro and I paid about 80 Euro per month for Teilkasko.
