    1. > A Russian spy ship is currently on the edge of UK waters, the defence secretary has announced.

      > John Healey said it was the second time that the ship, the Yantar, had been deployed to UK waters.

      > Giving a press conference in Downing Street, he said: „A Russian spy ship, the Yantar, is on the edge of UK waters north of Scotland, having entered the UK’s wider waters over the last few weeks.

      > „This is a vessel designed for gathering intelligence and mapping our undersea cables.

      > „We deployed a Royal Navy frigate and RAF planes to monitor and track this vessel’s every move, during which the Yantar directed lasers at our pilots.

      > „That Russian action is deeply dangerous, and this is the second time this year that this ship, the Yantar, has deployed to UK waters.“

      > Mr Healey added: „So my message to Russia and to Putin is this: we see you, we know what you’re doing, and if the Yantar travels south this week, we are ready.“

    2. Deploy your missiles!!

“We deployed a Royal Navy frigate and RAF planes to monitor and track this vessel’s every move, during which the Yantar directed lasers at our pilots.”

Tit-for-tat 💥 no more spy ship and it’s now our spy ship. Thanks for the hardware.

    3. Russia is all bark, no bite. They’re only doing this for the fear tactic, just like they did with intentionally flying their jets into NATO airspace. We should start doing the same thing to them and stop listening to their empty threats.

    4. >“So my message to Russia and to Putin is this: we see you, we know what you’re doing, and if the Yantar travels south this week, we are ready.“

What are we gonna do, monitor them to death?

    5. Sink it with an undetected sub and deny all knowledge of what happened, it’s the way they like to play the game.

    6. Commandeer it and scuttle it once the crew is detained for questioning. We’re not pirates or pushovers and we don’t have to tolerate bullying behaviour when it threatens our safety and sovereignty. If he wants to push the edges to see if we’ll take the bait, then just take it and let him make the next move.

They fired lasers at the pilots tracking them.

It’s just an innocent research vessel mapping out pipelines and cables.. just for science purposes.

Sincerely.. Kremlin innocent research division for peaceful purposes and friendship.

The thing looks like it’ll sink on its own soon enough, Russia must really be struggling if that’s their show of force.

If your territorial waters are challenged just blow up the f****** boat. Stop p**** footing around with these guys. You know what doesn’t map underground cables? Sunken spy boats.

    11. Is this any different to the russian ships that are constantly in our waters?

Didn’t the US set the precedent that terrorists in international waters are fair game for missiles. Russia directly targets civilians to inspire terror in Ukraine and Russia, ipso facto, they are terrorists. Bombs away UK, everyone is doing it!

    13. Should board them, seize whatever intelligence they’re gathering, interrogate them, and send them on their merry way
