That’s a sobering percentage and hardly surprising. I’m 60 and honestly wish I’d left when I was much younger. I fear it’s too late now.

Last year I had a non-viable pregnancy that didn’t pass and I required an abortion medication to remove the dead tissue for my own health and safety.

I wouldn’t stay in a country where I knew I might be denied that medical intervention and left to suffer and even die because of some nutcases that don’t understand the difference between a zygote and a baby.

Can we do a cultural exchange already? Some racist European who loves Trump can have my spot here.

Hard to live where you are hated and seen as nothing more than a fuckhole for half the country.

Wow 40% is high and it is permeant not just a go work somewhere for a year. Tells yeah a lot. Talks a little about why. We have politics and one MAGA segment to thank for that shit.

I imagine quite a few young women are thinking about raising children and not wanting to do so in the USA.

Over on the conservative sub, they seemed happy with this number. The vibe was “well if you want to leave be my guest”

Not surprised at all. Pedophiles are running the country, cost of living is soaring, health care is a nightmare, and having a family or buying a home seems unattainable

If I could leave I would. I’ll never be proud to be an American again after this country voted Trump in twice. Maybe this country used to be great, but I’m no longer optimistic about the future here

It is nation that is actively hostile to them and their future. With a sex trafficking pedo as a president that pardons and helps other sex traffickers. Bans abortions and more.

Crap, I know a lot of guys that want to leave. I feel for everyone. So many people are suffering. I hate to see it. I’m seriously eyeing Canada at times…

being in a conservative ish area, I don’t want to be around or date MAGA women… at the very least, I want to relocate… and soon. I could never have a partner like that who opposes so many things that matter to me.

Sadly they are right to want to. It’s sickening to see how fast this whole country has gone to s*** and ignoring virtually every constitutional law imaginable and not holding people accountable.

Those who caused all this damage, may it weigh on your souls for all eternity.

That’s why they want to make the ICE detention center the new tinder for r/ conservative.

    13. When you enact laws that place these women more as an object than an actual human being. What else should we expect?

    14. The Trump regime are tearing down everything women have achieved, trying to erase their history. They’re attacking women’s rights, to disempower them. Wanting to leave is an appropriate response to that. If Christian Nationalists get their way the only place for women will be in the maternity ward and in the kitchen. Young women have their whole lives ahead of them and would rather not get trapped living under authoritarian rule.

I’m a male.and I’d leave if I could. The America I was taught growing up is a lie, and the stupid people now outnumber all else.

What’s there to like? Versus the amount of stuff to hate?

Whether or not they have more bodily autonomy than a corpse depends on the state they live in. Who can blame them?

    17. Trump has killed the spirit of happiness and freedom for all American citizens. He a pedophile and his republican cronies want to control the rights of women. Frankly America has become unaffordable for the majority of the working class and middle classes. The American dream no larger exists, it’s now financial hardship and hopelessness.

    18. Uh i’d say if you poll liberal millennials you’d find that a good chunk of us would seriously consider being an ex-pat if we could.

We all voted for Obama and thought the insanity of the Bush years was going to lock Republicans out of office for decades. Guess how that turned out? We passed the ACA thinking it would be improved upon over time, lol to that. They’ve all but gutted it. (It was fundamentally flawed to begin with tbh) We thought the Tea Party psychos were just background noise, turns out they took over the party and became MAGA.

We all laughed when Trump won the nomination. Sure, crazy Republicans. Shoot yourself in the foot yet again a-ha-ha!

And now here we are. Full on kleptocracy on the march to authoritarianism. We thought Trump would destroy the Republican Party, but it basically destroyed the Democrats. Turns out being ruled by neoliberal septa and octogenarians is not a good plan when faced with a fascist takeover.

So yeah, GTFO if you can. It’s harder than most people think. The irony is, we all found out if there is an actual „Shithole Country“, it’s the USA. The richest country on Earth that utterly despises it’s own people.

I’m not a woman, but I will say this: why would they want to stay in a country that doesn’t value their bodily autonomy? I follow a number of young conservatives on Instagram, and while they’re not stupid people, many of them are simply uninformed. The girls constantly repeat that “abortion is murder”—I’ve heard that line so many times. But I’ve also seen that when people actually face these situations themselves, their perspectives often change.
