Wow, I’m sure that’s what the leader of a movement to gain independance for his citizen wants… to be under another ruler.

Whether you think this will me the end result or not, that is simply giving a terrible intention to your political opponent

Our politics have gone to shit lately

Federalists seem to be spinning their greatest hits lately: economic collapse, instant partition, Montreal seceding, FNs taking back their land, the sky falling… and now, apparently, an independent Quebec being “delivered to Donald Trump.” That one’s a fresh classic.

At some point you have to ask if the federalist case is solid, why does it always rely on cartoon-level scares instead of sober arguments? The more desperate the claims get, the more confident the sovereignty movement looks by comparison.

    3. PSPP certainly isn’t abating these fears given his cozying up to Alberta separatists, and what he implies he’ll be doing next year in the US. But with no viable alternative to the PQ, it’s hard to see how they don’t win the next election.

It would certainly be advantageous to the federal Liberals if there were a PQ government in Quebec from a politics standpoint, the government would inevitably be a trainwreck and could hand them most of the BQ seats. Though dealing with a separatist government in the second largest province wouldn’t be a fun situation in terms of governing.
