    1. Submission statement: Have you ever talked to an AI instead of your friends or family for emotional support? How helpful were they?

What are the ways we could get the benefits of emotional support from AIs while avoiding dystopian outcomes? Is there such a way?

What do you think talking to AIs will do to teen’s already stunted social skills?

Remember, the worry isn’t that your kids get access to the internet. It’s that the internet gets access to your kids.

    3. It’s wild that the spin is „AI is dangerous because it’s not flexible when talking to kids“ rather than „We’ve fucked up the social safety nets and our kids so much that they are forced to talk to software on the web rather than a person“

They should add a supervision layer to the service, where a separate AI reviews the chats and make sure they don’t veer into dangerous areas. In real life therapists have to have supervision and their own therapy, and I don’t see why chatbots should not have the same level of review.

That’s pretty much to be expected. Hell, it’s something that’s been predicted by popular media for a long time, it was actually considered to be a positive outcome of artifical intelligence originally.
