      So far, I think this general level of high education attainment has stood to Ireland in resisting the embrace of the far-right and extremist fringe elements. Like any western country, we do of course have extreme agitators – but I think Irish people (aware of our history) to this point have seen through the hate/bluster that spews.

      In this modern social media and AI age, the importance of critical thinking and understanding motives/perspectives for arguments on any side will be even more important into the future.

      I remember someone explaining to me that in Germany you have to pick quite young between a trades focused or an academic focused curriculum which personally I think is a bit sad.

      A lot of low quality degrees though that don’t really tie into the labour market though. Fair enough if your studying philosophy in university but a lot of the so called practical course are a bit useless
