Platforms shitty practices and „dynamic pricing“ is also such BS. Queue for 30 mins before a presale, arrive to „sold out“ with hundreds of $50 tickets being resold for $500.

So they are going to ban ticketmaster?

So this means all the „official“ resellers (viagogo etc) will be outlawed
Bullshit

How will this work if the scalpers buying up all the tickets are from out of the country? Just banning all the reseller sites and then no one can buy tickets for shows at all?

So no more ticket master?

Tickets will be resold at face value plus a small £700 transaction fee

What’s annoying is they won’t let you re-sell your ticket before a concert sells out. So if you can’t make it then you’ll now have no way to sell it.
I’ve previously sold tickets at face value, without the handling fee included. Twickets then have their own purchasing fee for the buyer which comes to about £10. It sucked but at least you could sell at a reasonable price
I hope they’ll allow selling tickets at face value at least

But reselling houses for profit? Nah crack on

The ban will also govern social media sites, which resale platforms have claimed would offer unregulated and potentially fraudulent tickets if legislation squeezes online ticket exchanges out of the market.
Be careful with your $.

This is actually going to be very difficult to police if they don’t do away with ticket transfers, which isn’t mentioned in the plans and isn’t realistically going to happen.
They can make it illegal here, but just like with football tickets (which it is already illegal to sell over face value in the UK) they will just be sold on sites hosted abroad.
As long as you can transfer a ticket to an email address, there will be some platform facilitating trades.

They’ll just resell tix at face value in a bundle. $50 ticket plus $500 souvenir pencil

Cool, now outlaw stealing the possessions of refugees to pay for their accommodation while they’re being processed and you’ll be on to a real winner. Jesus Christ, fix this stupid country.

Wouldn’t this benefit the platform resellers (not the scalpers)? If someone is willing to pay $600 for a $100 ticket then the resellers can just say the face was $100 but the fees were $200 or something exorbitant.

I don’t think this should be banned I just think there should be a limit on how much you can upcharge.
