Harsh penalties should be a core platform piece of any serious democrat going forward. This kind of criminal behavior can’t be tolerated in a functional society.

They should be, but I get the feeling that after all the other things that Americans should be enraged at, this will also only enraged a small subset and those in power continue on unchallenged.
DOJ needs to be made fully independent of the executive.
A third of the country is enraged.
Another third is too stupid to pay attention.
And the final third is cheering it on and calling trump king.
This isn’t even being kept a secret by the Trump admin. He is openly giving orders to the DOJ on his stupid fucking truth social account in a completely unprecedented breach in the DOJ’s independence.
If Americans didn’t want the DoJ to be under the (tiny) thumb of a corrupt convicted criminal then they should have voted differently in 2024.
Every senator who voted to confirm AG Bondi and other staffers should be held accountable because this was foreseeable from the beginning.
A Hollywood casting department could not have found more appropriate characters to play the part of the Dictator’s evil sycophants.

The department of justice has been the GOP’s personal law firm since 1992.
The agencies of DHS, DOJ, DOGE have been weaponized, politicalized, militarized, to serve one. The optics of DHS and DOJ appear to be the playbook of the „Third Reich,“ DOJ acts as Gestapo; DHS acts as SS; and DOGE acts as the SD.
Reminder that Pam Bondi was picked because she already accepted a 50k bribe from Trump in the past to drop cases against him in Florida.

We’ve watched them lie, cheat, steal, destroy, pervert justice and attack the American people, our democracy, constitution and institutions for nearly 10 years. This country cannot survive this onslaught of lawlessness in the federal government. Democracy is collapsing under the voters’ decisions last November. Another 90 million eligible voters chose not to bother preventing it, by just abandoning their own right to vote. We (not the 75 million of us who voted for Democrats) literally chose to destroy our country from within. I don’t think this nation will ever recover.
