The vast network of busses needed to not make that happen is something we shouldn’t even consider creating.
There’s nothing wrong with using a car if PT isn’t there. And you don’t need to connect every place with every other place with PT – that completed the ride in an acceptable time.

Meanwhile in Italy they do demonstrations to increase the number of circulating cars! (they organised a car parade in Rome for today, but luckily they were stopped because 300 cars would participate and paralyse the city…)
This is the reason why I hate public transport. That and the lack of flexibility and going from door the door. Anyway, all inherent things to public transport.

Yup. I’d love to commute by public transport but it’s 120 mins v 20 mins by car.

I guess you calculated a route between two places each next to a highway exit?
luckily there are plenty of places where the reverse is true, although that doesn’t stop people from taking the car or taxi. And while google maps seems clueless my example takes only about 10 minutes by public transportation (connection at least each 15 minutes)
