To think they could just provide a better product at a lower price.
People want third seasons of unique shows.
How can the platform that pioneered streaming be so clueless?
Or just, you know, invest in quality shows then let them run to their plot-driven thematic conclusion rather than cancelling them after 1 season or beating a dead horse with endless remakes.

All we want are quality shows that finish towards a conclusion. Do the British thing and book a season or two of a miniseries and just start rolling the dice. Stop making shows that assume people are „watching in the background.“ Stop making reality tv ripoffs of your most popular shows.
Its almost like Netflix knows what will make them money and chooses specifically not to do it.
You know when I started using Netflix, it was 10 bucks a month to stream whatever I desired.
Maybe I’d still use it if that were a promise they would have been willing to keep.
Dropped Netflix a year ago and don’t miss it in the least. Aside from the constant price increases, half their content seems like AI slop even if it’s not AI. The odd show I do want to see I find on the high seas.
Does anyone actually play these? Social play from a Roku remote sounds like a heretofore undiscovered circle of hell.

I’d subscribe if they didn’t double down on gaming and instead passed the savings on to me by lowering their subscription price. Reduce your spend, reduce your price, KEEP IT LOW, and I’ll sub.
I played a Netflix game once. After ~20 hours of game play my save file disappeared from their server and I was SooL. I will never play another Netflix game. It wasn’t an overly complicated game. I don’t understand why everything had to go thru their server.
You keep subscribers by making your service cheap and by not forcing ads on people.
Kinda funny how Netflix went from mailing DVDs to trying to be a gaming platform. The social play angle makes sense though, people stick around longer when they have friends involved. Curious if anyone here actually uses Netflix games regularly?
Honestly, their increased focus on gaming/social play is having the opposite effect on me. They should have a „no games“ option (with or without a different price point).

The movies and shows have gotten better lately but that seems to be something they do every year around the holidays. Netflix has great original content, they just need to make decisions faster about season renewals so they don’t go years between seasons waiting on writing and actor availability. Friends from college was an amazing show with an amazing cast and they just let it go. So many other examples as well.
Have they tried keeping the good shows?
Yeah… a gaming platform is not what I’m missing from Netflix. Higher quality streams? A better library? Improving the quality of in-house series? *Finishing* a series?
We’ve gone from one cable bill to piracy to a few great value streaming options to a dozen high-cost-low-value streaming options back to piracy.
The market simply won’t support $200/month across 8 streaming services to replace a $150/month cable bill that includes high speed internet.
It’s like these idiots are reading from the music playbook, but refusing to learn from history.
Now the PC nation & Consol users have a reason to unite.

Does anyone actually play or know anyone that plays Netflix’s games? Clearly enough have to play to sustain it but I’ve never even looked into it. I’ve never heard anyone talking about playing the games either lol
Just put a couple good movies and shows back in there and lower price a bit and everything should be okay
I swear I just read they were shutting all their gaming down because nobody ever used it. Guess they got another pitch from somebody.
How about you focus on producing some NEW content. I’m sick of paying $25/month to watch movies from 2009.
We just cancelled our netflix account. Too many cheap, bullshit reality shows.

Who the fuck plays games on Netflix?
I actually like the puzzled app that they introduced. It contains small games which you can do daily (Like how wordle works). If only there was a leaderboard system in there.
Maybe they should be using the money they’re making hand over fist here to ensure that their new TV and film content has subtitles and closed captioning ready on day one. Go look at the latest season of Scissor Seven. The show’s been available in 3 languages right now since Wednesday (4 days as of this writing). Original Mandarin, English, and Spanish, and there are no captions or subtitles. For that matter, they don’t even have proper episode titles in the listing for this season.
I don’t use their platform to play games. I don’t care for their games. They need to fix their shit and ensure they’re firing on all cylinders before they try to do other shit than what they’re primarily here for.
