I’m more curious about Effective/Average tax rates that the 1% pay on all income sources

Top 1% highest salaries. Not even close to what’s needed to be the top 1% income including investments, business ownership and misc passive income

I’m surprised it’s not even more for Mass. There’s money all over the place here, especially in greater Boston.

This is still not enough to love comfortably for the average Redditor

DC is $726k, just behind MD and VA, according tohttps://dqydj.com/income-by-state/

Holy shit. I had no idea it was that high. I remember when I was younger the standard for top 1% was 250k and for some reason that baseline stuck with me

Wyoming and Colorado are probably largely skewed by their mountain resort towns as they have some of the wealthiest permanent residents in places like Jackson, Aspen or Vail but have other towns were $850k a year would be more than enough to live extremely lavishly.

Lol thats actually achievable in most states. I thought it would be at least 1.5m.

As a republican the affordability issue needs to be addressed with sound policy or we’ll be thrown out of office quickly.

Would love to see this juxtaposed against median HH income by state. Some of these values shocked me when I consider the median, like WY higher than MN (Jackson Hole, I get it). I feel like seeing the side by side would highlight income disparity.

    11. The top 10% and 20% would be far more interesting as they are something a person can imagine.

The hardest working people I have ever known, blue collar or otherwise, will never earn this much. In any state. We need to kill the myth that it’s all about hard work.
      But I digress.
