I will take whatever she takes. That’s some serious power(ful stuff) right there.

Even in its current reduced state, Europe is already the second economy of the world. So imagine what a more federal europe would do. There’s definitely momentum. Around 10-15% of Draghi’s reforms have been implemented and more is on the way. It’s only a matter of time.

    3. What’s the phone number of this new world leader? Europe can’t agree with itself on lots of things, and now wants to decide for others?

    4. Empty-Angle-6472 on

Do you guys think that she trully believes this or is just saying what they thell her to say or is completely delusional?

    5. As an European I say good luck with that. As long as we have a whole bunch of countries that cannot agree on any fucking thing we will never ever be the „new leader“ of the world.

    6. And as a new leader we have to push thru with chat control ! /s

      Fucking wankers

    7. In order to lead the free world, Europe must be part of it. Chat Control and Age Verification are not freedom; they are oppression.

    8. She is an expert in empty and nonsense content. How was she actually put in this position??

    9. It would be a lot easier if the EU would concentrate about the things that unites us and not try to fight the stuff that we do different.

All of the expected comments, as usual.

Yes, the EU has issues it needs to resolve, but her message is logically sound.

There needs to be a central power to influence world events in a way that encourages peace, prosperity and human development.

The US cannot or will not play this role anymore (some would say hasn’t played this role for the last decades) , then the EU is the logical replacement.

    11. That’s funny . Speak like this and when tomorrow a call comes  from washington to seize nexperia , do it without hesitation and without your initiative.  This is some kind of talk , the same kind from politicians all over the world .

    12. The USA has never been the leader of the free world. Almost everything they’ve done in the last 100 years has been self-serving (apart from their very late entry into World War II – although even there, self-interest was paramount)
They have repeatedly betrayed their „allies“ and disregarded internationally recognized human rights. If military strength alone makes someone a „leader of the free world,“ that’s pretty pathetic.

I believe Europe will rise again. It needs to get rid of all the bs regulations first though.

You people and your negativity are the thing that holds progress back. Europe is a free zone with democracy and a socially focused society. America never was a free country. You are brainwashed—you don’t even realize it. In Europe, I have free healthcare, don’t get fired from one day to the next, and we have privacy laws and consumer protection.

What does America have? A Handmaid’s Tale as an action plan in full force—and a mob of gangsters, rapists, pedophiles, and fascists in the fucking government. You Americans should just shut up and fix your own country, if you even can. You voted for that crap. I am glad I live in the EU.

People need to appreciate what we have and protect it—and not cry over every small issue as if it’s the end of the world. You are the reason right-wing parties succeed; you fall like morons for the propaganda. What is wrong with you?

Europe does not have any kind of leadership to offer to the world that doesnt just consist of handing out welfare based on a historic economic advantage.

Any time a war is being discussed in international politics its USA/China/Russia who get the resources, the arab world gets political and cultural influence and europe is the ~~idiot~~ partner that ~~pays for everything~~ helps rebuilding communites affected by conflict.

i have a bad feeling about the motive. its about power, about gaining power, about getting power. its not a good idea.

    17. >free world needs a new leader
any of you guys here need a new leader? because I sure dont

Ok start by repelling Chat Control forever and age verification. And do something about AI.

I wish. But nobody takes us seriously, all any competitor needs to do is bide their time because we are slowly killing ourselves with dumb policies.

The EU had about 8 months since the election of Trump to actually become sovereign, independent of foreign influence and lead the free world. But they fumbled it. Events wait for no one. European leaders have a lack of leadership, a lack of vision and a lack of charisma. Americans gambled and came on top. They’re still the leaders of the West whether we like it or not. Kallas is delusional.
This picture ( [https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Flive%2Fcz93ve1p952t&psig=AOvVaw3feiA15jgKoxt6babZ62Hc&ust=1763385027901000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBUQjRxqFwoTCKic3aPf9pADFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE](https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Flive%2Fcz93ve1p952t&psig=AOvVaw3feiA15jgKoxt6babZ62Hc&ust=1763385027901000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBUQjRxqFwoTCKic3aPf9pADFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE) ) symbolises the situation: leaders like Macron and Starmer who tried to become dominant are getting „schooled“ by Trump, an entire continent accepting its fate as a miserable vassal for the forseeable future. This encapsulates the demise of any chance we had to gain independence from the US. But of course we forget that the european left was fine with the US dominating us when the Dems were in power. Which is the root of the problem. Instead of Europeans uniting to achieve autonomy, we are divided along partisan and ideological lines on the matter and every time a new president is elected we decide to align or not with the US.

The EU has capitulated to the US once again due to weak leadership (https://www.politico.eu/cdn-cgi/image/width=1440,quality=80,onerror=redirect,format=auto/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/29/GettyImages-2226607565-1-scaled.jpg). If the EU realises that then you lot might actually come close to achieving what you wish in a decade.

    21. The free world needs fully functional democracies and Europe has taken a different path on that!

    22. the_mighty_peacock on

Mrs Kallas if you want to be a world leader you need to have the economic power of a world leader and the military might of a world leader. Why dont you work on these fronts first?

    23. Nothing screams free world like chat control, more needless regulations to complicate things and unconditional support for a state committing a genocide.

If we want to be the new leader, we probably should start by not being the lap dog of the US. Leaders make the rules they dont follow the rules of the other leader. Thats just a follower.
