    1. Snippets from [the article](https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/chicago-area-ice-arrests-600-criminal-histories-high-public-safety-risk/):

      >The list is topped by 16 people deemed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a „high public safety risk“ because of their alleged criminal histories. Charges include aggravated assault, aggravated DUI, domestic battery and kidnapping. One person was deemed a national security risk, and another was identified as a „foreign criminal,“ but no details were given.

      >The government was required to provide the list in court as a judge prepares to potentially release most of those people by next Friday, because their arrests potentially violated the terms of a court order restricting warrantless arrests.

      >The government’s own data shows that 78% of the 607 people detained by federal immigration agents between June 12 and mid-October pose a low risk to public safety, while a total of 7% are considered high risk – though not all of those considered high risk have criminal histories.

      >Only 16 people on the list – or 2.6% – have criminal histories that the federal government deemed make them high risks to public safety.

      >“That’s not a good percentage, to say the least. I think it runs contradictory to what has been perpetuated over the last several months, where this is a targeted enforcement operation designed to go after kind of the worst of the worst,“ Balliet said.

Wait did they have criminal histories before they were arrested or was it trumped up charges?

    3. 16 of 600… kinda like the ratio of charged Venezuelans sent to that torture chamber Cecot Prison.

The new ICE motto „It is better for ten innocent men to be arrested than for one guilty man to go free.“

That’s a much lower percentage of people with criminal records than the general population.

It was never about law, order, or criminals- it was always about hurting any area that didn’t vote red in overwhelming numbers. Always.

    10. I’m guessing that is actually a lower rate than in the general population.

So glad that we got to spend that money on getting the ‘bad guys’ out instead of, you know, fixing roads and bridges, funding mass transit schemes, investing in affordable housing. Because owning the Dems and making the US a fucking joke is the most important thing.

    12. „Worst of the worst“. Nope.

The worst of the worst are much, much harder to catch because they aren’t showing up to their normal hard-working jobs every day and they aren’t showing up to court dates. They’re going after the easy prey in order to make quotas.

That’s because they’re not going after criminals, they’re going after Hispanics.
