Good why should they have more rights than the people of their own country…..
Queue the losers who think everyone deserves it all cause they can breathe

Asylum and reguee folks are fleeing horrors the average idiot can’t imagine.
The bizzare demonisation of them baffles me. If you want to be an anti immigration weirdo there are many far less vulnerable groups you can go after who you may even have a slightly valid argument against.
Why folks want to kick the most vulnerable while they are down is not something I ever hope to understand.
This is ghastly behaviour.

I hope Canada soon makes similar changes.
I’m all for helping those that are in true need of asylum, but the vast majority of claims are from people in no danger in their home country.
In 2024 over 20,000 International Students, overwhelmingly from India, made asylum claims as their student permits expired, studies ended or flunked out of school. They know full well that the system set out to approve these claims is severely backlogged so they can get a few extra years at least while their claim is heard, and when it doesn’t go in their favor they can appeal and get a few more. Social media is full of people openly bragging about how easy it is to manipulate the system.
The above example is just for international students. It doesn’t take into account the numbers of temporary residents also pulling the same stunt.
